In this field and analytical paper, the author’s goal is to compare two tales of “Miss moonbrow”
which had been told from the ancient local-folk tales from Sa’adi’s district in Shiraz with the
European tale “Cinderella” by Charles Perrault and explains the differences and similarities
between these two tales and after the analysis of mythical and cultural aspects of each, specifies
the Iranian and European cultural differences and similarities and also the cultural relation
between them; the result of this comparison is that despite the similarities between these two
tales in terms of subject and theme, the nationality, cultural and religion differences cause the
characters or some behavior in the tale become different and or the time and place difference
influence on some themes of Cinderella’s tale. The goal of this research is to determine how
similar the narrated tales in different parts of the world are in terms of the theme.
