The use of verses and traditions has been common in mystical and non-mystical literature for
a long time. But the mystics, unlike poets and many prose writers who have been thinking of
creating a theme with verses and traditions, due to their inner meaning and semantics, they
quest those verses and traditions that they need them to prove or focus their two-level thought.
Because they believe that Islamic mysticism came out of the heart of religious ideas and the best
tool to prove or substantiate them will be books and traditions. Shabastari, with his amazing
mastery over the Quran and traditions, in each of his three main works, Kolshan Raz, Saadat
Nameh and Haq Al-yaqin, has referred to the verses and traditions according to their meaning,
content and form, and displayed his mystical, religious and discouse on the background of the
history of his era. The information of this research was obtained by using the library method and
was analyzed and described with qualitative method. The purpose of this research is to show how Shabastari uses verses and traditions in both realms of form and meaning. The research results show that he was one of the best users of books and tradition to prove his ideas.
