Simin Behbahani and Hossein Manzavi can be mentioned among the lyrical poets of the
contemporary period who had a greater impact on the evolution of human views. What is
discussed in this essay is the social dimension of lyrical poetry and it reveals the type of thought
of these two poets. Therefore, behavioral duality and hypocrisy which causes deception of the
mind are among the components that poets have avoided while criticizing. The present article
tries to show what kind of hypocrisy the two poets have talked about using a descriptiveanalytical method and a comparative approach. Knowing the signs of these traits can help a
person in how to deal with these people, and examining the poems of two poets is a factor to
achieve the power of avoiding them. In the meantime, Simin has brought up this vice directly and
with more frequency and diversity; while the isolated one tries to consider the social obligation
more emotionally. What both poets have been able to show to the audience based on moral
standards, is the use of the words mask, enchantment, trickery, and deception, which are used
synonymously with hypocrisy.
